The EDGE has many features that are similar to traditional PERC or Hydrocarbon machines.  However, it also contains a number of innovative new features that make it more efficient, more reliable and simpler (and safer!) to operate than these other machines.  While there are similarities to PERC or Hydrocarbon machines, the DrySolv® EDGE is designed to maximize the unique advantages of the DrySolv® dry cleaning solvent.  Even though the overall process is similar to that of a PERC machine, there are a number of distinct differences that must be kept in mind to operate the EDGE at its peak efficiency.

L.E.A.N. Solvent Vapor Recovery System

The L.E.A.N. (Low Emission Air Neutralization) Solvent Vapor Recovery System (SVRS) of the DrySolv® EDGE represents a significant advance over the refrigeration systems common to 4th and 5th generation PERC and Hydrocarbon machines.  Through an innovative combination of condensing coil, compressor system and air duct design, we have engineered a system that is capable of doing in one system what previously could only be accomplished with the addition of carbon adsorption.  The results are noticeably superior and more energy efficient.  The SVRS can achieve temperatures at the coil sufficiently cold enough to wring nearly every molecule of solvent vapor out of the internal airstream, resulting in much faster drying times, superior solvent mileage and the lowest solvent emissions from the loading door of any machine on the market.  With our “smart” PLC system automating and controlling the drying and cool down cycles, thereby eliminating operator error, at the conclusion of each cycle the solvent vapor concentration in the wheel will be reduced to levels previously only achievable with 5th generation PERC equipment using carbon adsorption.

“SMART” PLC Control

Programming the EDGE is easy and painless with the “smart” PLC control system.  You can store up to 20 password protected programs that can be individually named.  The drying and cool down cycles are completely automated to ensure that your clothes come out dry and the solvent vapor level in the wheel is as low as possible at the conclusion of the cycle every time.  The only parameters that need be set during the drying and cool down modes are the temperatures of the heated drying air and the final cool down temperature desired.  The “smart” software does the rest!

With the “smart” system, you can connect your EDGE to the web via an Ethernet cable and we can diagnose or monitor your machine remotely, thereby saving on the high costs of onsite technician visits and allowing us to ensure any downtime is kept to an absolute minimum or prevented altogether.  If our technicians at the factory notice any potential trouble spots with your equipment through periodic checks, we can alert you via email so you can check on and correct them before any problems arise.

Environmentally Friendly and Energy Efficient

By combining the DrySolv® EDGE machine with DrySolv® dry cleaning solvent, you have taken a huge leap towards environmentally responsible dry cleaning.  DrySolv® is environmentally friendly, non ozone depleting, non hazardous and does not contribute to global warming.  The DrySolv® EDGE not only maximizes the environmentally friendly benefits of DrySolv®, but takes it a step further through clever energy conservation mechanisms which also reduce its carbon footprint.  The SVRS minimizes operator exposure and fugitive emissions from your machine, squeezing every last mile out of each gallon of DrySolv® and keeping your workers and the environment safe.  Water use is minimized through our modulating valve system, which also serves to consistently cool DrySolv® to a preset temperature for the next cycle for consistent, repeatable cleaning performance.

The combination of the DrySolv® EDGE and DrySolv® dry cleaning solvent has a very small carbon footprint and is environmentally safer than other systems, including PERC and Hydrocarbon machines, without sacrificing performance or throughput in any way.  As a matter of fact, these benefits are achieved while decreasing cycle time and increasing performance and throughput!

Parallel Electric or Steam Heated Solvent Distillation

With our parallel electric or steam heated solvent distillation system, the need for expensive spin disc and carbon filters and multiple tanks is a thing of the past.  After each wash cycle, the dirty DrySolv® is sent directly to the steam or electrically heated still for immediate distillation.  The energy used to distill the solvent during the distillation cycle is recycled during the drying mode to reheat the air in the duct.  When combined with the temperature actuated modulating water valve used to control the water supply for condensing the bulk of the solvent vapors from the still, the use of water is minimized and energy is used and reused in the most efficient manner possible.  With parallel solvent distillation, the full wash load of solvent is returned to the base tank in pristine condition by the time you are ready to start your next wash cycle.  There is no need to worry about whether you just ran a load of reds or darks before your next load of whites because every single time you start a new wash load, your solvent is clean, pure and ready to remove the maximum amount of soils without leaving any residue on the clothes.  Your white loads will come out brighter and whiter and your color-dyed garments will pop like never before, each and every time!
