Enviro Tech International Inc. is the parent company to both Dry Cleaning Technologies and Baron Blakeslee. While Dry Cleaning Technologies is a new name in the corporate market place, Baron Blakeslee is not. Baron Blakeslee is one of the oldest and most respected names in vapor degreasing equipment. They offer a vast arraignment of newly built vapor degreasers, refurbished machines, and replacement parts. Both the newly formed Dry Cleaning Technologies and Baron Blakeslee are based in Melrose Park, IL.

Enviro Tech International Inc. began operation in the early 1990s as an idea of Larry Clark, an entrepreneurial Californian and a twenty-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. Larry had an intimate knowledge of the importance of cleaning critical aerospace and electronic equipment requirements from his military experience. Unfortunately, effective cleaning solvents such as 1,1,1,-Trichloroethane (TCA), Freon, and HCFC-141b were banned by the Montreal Protocols when it was discovered that these chemicals played a significant role in the destruction of the ozone layer. Clark’s vision was to develop a proprietary cleaning solvent that would clean as effectively as solvents like TCA but would be environmentally friendly and safer to use.

Early in the process of developing the "perfect" cleaning solvent Clark tried terpenes (extracts from pine trees and oranges) blended with hydrocarbons, and in some cases water, as new replacements. These materials offered some interesting advantages for specific applications, but in general, fell far short of Clark’s expectations. The ETI team of chemists searched the reference books and databases and experimented with several solvents and additives. Finally, n-Propyl Bromide (nPB) was discovered as a candidate that might meet the criteria for the "perfect" solvent. An additive package was developed to improve solvency, azeotropic performance and inhibit acidity. From this research effort, EnSolv™ Precision Cleaning Solvent emerged and was patented in 1995.

DrySolv™ was formed from both the EnSolv™ technology and understanding of performance cleaning by members of ETI and Baron Blakeslee. Together Enviro Tech International Inc. and Dry Cleaning Technologies have worked hard to develop the perfect solvent to be a “drop in” replacement for PERC. In addition, we have taken steps to introduce our solvent into Hydro Carbon machines, furthering our impact on the industry.
